The Pains of Being Pure At Heart Have A New EP!

Brooklyn-based indie rockers The Pains of Being Pure At Heart will drop their third release and second EP one week from today on September 22nd. The band debuted on the scene with 2007’s The Pains of Being Pure At Heart EP. Now, two years and a full-length later, the New Yorkers are back with a five track EP entitled Higher Than The Stars [EP].

The group’s 80’s-inspired retro sound is more clean and crisper than ever on their latest effort. The first (and title track) off of the album is poppy, sickeningly sweet and just plain delicious. This tight and easy-to-digest sound continues throughout the EP, which includes four new songs and a remix of the title track done by Saint Etienne. On top of all that, Higher Than The Stars (which is being released on Slumberland) is coming in a handful of different versions. These include the CD, a two track 7″, a four track 12″, and a 12″ remix album.

Anyone who grew up in the 80s and is a fan of music from this time will easily fall in love with the Higher Than The Stars EP. Fans of the The Pains of Being Pure at Heart will also find themselves impressed with the group’s more polished and maturing sound.
