The BTR Birthday Party Post

On June 20, BreakThru Radio celebrated its 2nd birthday by throwing a party at the Luna Lounge in Brooklyn.  We had 4 awesome performances by Elizabeth Harper, The Izzys, Chairlift and Mixel Pixel.  The drinks flowed freely, the bands played on and, like any good birthday party, there was cake! (Oh, was there cake…)

Annie & Maia: Our resident Betty Crockers.

Colleen just wants to eat the cake.

Jeff and DJ Darkside prepare for the par-tay.

The talented Ms. Elizabeth Harper has a camera shy moment. We ❤ her anyway…

…Because she puts on a kickass show!

It’s Chairlift drummer and BTR’s own DJ Patrick!

Mixel Pixel‘s Kaia mans the merch table.

DJ Lottie & DJ Darkside are in da house.

DJ Drew‘s ready to celebrate his birthday as well!  Thumbs up, DJ Drew!

Maia, DJ Patrick, Daphne from Flavorpill, DJ Drew and Annie humor Colleen by posing for yet *another* picture…

Colleen & DJ Drew, straight chillin’.

Chairlift = rockin’ the boroughs.  Happy birthday, Caroline!

Mixel Pixel = neat-o.

Jeff dances like girly man.

Check out Elizabeth Harper’s performance here.

Check out The Izzys’ performance here.

It’s Monday and you know what that means – a new Blogger of the Week.  This week, we’ll be featuring Brad Kado from Avant Chicago.  His first post is all about Paribus Records, check it out here.

In a bit of other news, check out TV/TV’s MySpace page to hear the exclusive interview from our studio session with them.  Find out the story behind the origins of TV/TV, some of their influences, and whether or not they’d rather take a trip to the moon or spend a year in Europe.

Finally, our BOTW – Anne from Gapers Block: Transmission – saw Apostle of Hustle live at Schubas on June 20.  She’s been awesome enough to share her review with all our listeners.  You can check it out here.

Have a great weekend, everyone!  Be sure to check out all next week to catch the live performances from our birthday party.
